When people look at me, they assume I won’t amount to anything because I was born in poverty. When in reality, I have worked so hard. I earned my GED. I have a steady job. I just got married to my high school sweetheart. I love God and I serve faithfully in my church. I’ve managed the pain of having my father killed when I was young. I look after my mother, my younger brother, my nieces and my nephews. I want to see all Black boys and men succeed.
